Character history:
Rarity is a Unicorn born and raised in Ponyville to a very simple and laid back couple. At a very young age she began sewing and would frequently make the costumes for her school productions. One day while sewing a second set of costumes her horn started glowing and dragging her, and assuming that her horn was leading her to her destiny she followed it...for days on end. When finally her horn decided she had found her destination she found...a rock. A big huge rock. Needless to say she was not pleased with this, but when Rainbow Dash unleashed her sonic rainboom the rock split in two to reveal it was filled with gemstones. Inspiration came over Rarity and her career in fashion was solidified.
Rarity was responsible for the decorating of the summer sun celebration happening in Ponyville, and when Twilight came to check on her progress completely dishevelled by Rainbow Dash she instantly took her under her nonexistent wing and gave her a makeover. When she found out Twilight was from Canterlot she became even more determined to become her friend. She also accompanied Twilight when she went off in search of the Elements of Harmony to take down Nightmare Moon and bring back Princess Celestia. Along the way she was able to help the team cross a raging river by calming down a river serpent. His moustache had been destroyed so she cut off her tail so that the crime against fabulosity could be rectified. In the final battle against Nightmare Moon she stood beside Twilight as the Element of Generosity and helped to bring back the day.
In the following year her friendship with Twilight, AppleJack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie and Fluttershy grew more and more, learning lessons in friendship all the way. When she discovered that Twilight had been invited to the Grand Galloping Gala she did everything in her power to make sure she got the second ticket so that she could go and find the love of her life. Eventually she relented though, realising it was unfair to put so much pressure on Twilight. Eventually Celestia sent everyone tickets though so they all got to go anyway.
She also made everyone custom gowns for the Gala, however her initial dresses were not what they had expected, so she completely remade all of them to her friends expectations completely exhausting herself in the meantime. Not only that but the outfits looked horrible, but her friends were happy and she thought that that’s all that mattered. Eventually her friends realized that the dresses she had originally made were perfect and they put on a fashion show of their own. When the Gala finally came around Rarity did end up meeting her prince, but he was not at all what she had expected. He was spoilt and conceited, expecting her to be the chivalrous one and to do everything for him. She eventually snapped when he used her as a pony shield for an oncoming onslaught of cake, and she made she he was just as covered in frosting as she was.
Character personality:
Rarity may come off as your typical prissy fashionista, but there is much more to this pony than meets the eye. First off, Rarity is incredibly self sacrificing and generous, after all she doesn’t bear the Element of Generosity for nothing. She will go out of her way for almost anyone and will give up huge amounts of time for her friends. For example, when the ponies needed dresses for the Grand Galloping Gala Rarity volunteered to make them all custom dresses and worked tirelessly on them to make them perfect to her friends standards, completely forgetting her own dress and being completely dissatisfied with her work. I should also mention that she did all this for barely any money. She’s shown to frequently make outfits for her friends for absolutely nothing and has even helped Fluttershy become a fashion star despite her incredible jealousy. She’s also incredibly gracious when she receives the same treatment from any of her friends and cherishes gifts from them.
She is also extremely hard working, putting countless hours into her sewing business and still having time to give to all of her friends and her sister. While she can get distracted from time to time when she sets her mind to do something you can damn well expect that it will be done to perfection. While she and her friends and sister may get in spats at times she loves them all very much and cares about them a great deal, to the point where she would do anything to ensure their safety. She will also do anything to regain a friendship that has been lost, doing whatever it takes to make sure their bond is not broken.
Digimon partner personality:
Rarity’s partner is going to be her pet cat, Oplaescence, turned into a Tailmon child level.
Opal does not like her owner. Or anyone for that matter really. Except maybe Fluttershy.
While Rarity breaks the stereotype of the prissy, bitchy, mean fashionista Opal defines it. She has a keen sense of fashion but would much rather reap the benefits of the end results rather than do any of the work herself. Rarity loves Opal to death but she finds all this affection nauseating and annoying and would much rather be left alone thank you very much. When she wants attention she’ll let you know, up until that point stay away unless you want to say hello to her claws. She’s also incredibly snide and smug, taking pleasure in insulting others and causing frustration. Opal is also quite violent and loves to hunt, constantly “killing” her pet mouse and sometimes even real ones, much to Rarity’s displeasure.
Character abilities:
Rarity is a fashion designer and as such she has a creative streak a mile wide and has a keen eye for detail. Her observational skills do not just apply to fashion but to any situation, often noticing dangerous situations before they occur and seeing how to avoid them or fix them when they occur. She is excellent at drawing and can recreate almost anything after only briefly seeing it. Her attention to detail though is not without its faults as her almost obsessive and perfectionist nature can cause tasks to take her forever. She also has quit the silver tongue, able to manipulate others when needbe and is able to lie and act her way out of almost any situation.
As a unicorn pony Rarity has the ability to use magic. Every unicorn has their own specific talent, and Rarity’s is location spells, as well as general telekinesis. She is able to use her magic to search for and locate gems as well as other small items and can use her telekinetic magic to operate sewing machines, hover items at a distance and manipulate them. It’s also been shown that she can create an almost hallucinogenic state and trick the mind into believing they are in a garden or in space, and she employs this magic to enhance her fashion shows. While it's never revealed this is actually what she's doing it is my interpretation of the scene. If you want me to change it to simply creating a fanciful light show I can do that.
While she can be quite the girly pony she is very physically capable, even if you would never guess it. She’s been shown to pull huge carts filled with jewels and has carried a huge boulder (which she believed to be a diamond) around on her back for the better part of a day. She’s also been able to convince her sister she was Applejack in a competition requiring agility and strength proving that she is much more physically capable than anyone, even her sister, would believe.
While it’s never been shown in the show it has been theorized by some fans that Rarity also partakes in archery as a hobby. It is believed she would use her telekinetic magic to create a bow and string to fire the arrow, and would partake in the sport as a sort of calming pastime, and also an art form. I would like to include this piece of fanon as head canon for her, but if not allowed I understand.

For those I have yet to meet I’m Rarity, a unicorn from Equestria. Now, back home I run a business and I make the most fabulous dresses and gowns for ponies, and I love doing it! I would love to set up my own business here until the time which this...tree god... allows us to return home. Of course, there is an issue here. Most of the creatures that live here, whether they’re from this place or from another, are shaped much differently than any pony I’ve seen and as such garments must be cut and created very differently. So, I’ve found a wonderful solution! I make you a dress, shirt, jacket, whatever garment you wish, and I get practice sewing for these new shapes of bodies! Of course I would feel absolutely dreadful charging while I’m still learning, so all the work I do will be done for free! I will of course have to charge for materials, but I know we can figure something out that works for every pony’s ...I’m terribly sorry, habit ... Everyones budget.
Now, who would love a wonderful new outfit? Come now, don’t be shy...

Rarity stared at shock and awe at the sight before her. Her neck stretched up and her eyes grew larger as she saw more and more. It wasn’t like she wasn’t used to the strange and unusual by now, in fact after Pinkie Pies dose of random antics she would still consider this giant chessboard of a city normal. No, it wasn’t where she was, it was more how did she get here? The transportation to get here certainly wasn’t like anything she’d experienced before. Sure, she’d been caught in a mishap of Twilight’s before and had been teleported into another room but this felt wierd. The sensation of teleportation was completely off! Normally the sensation of teleportation was just a mild discomfort in her stomach but this...well, she felt like she was tingling all over! It was so strange! Oh where was Twilight now...
“Twilight? Oh Twilight dear...where are you? We seem to have had a mishap and-“
“RARITYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!”
There was a scream from nearby...and not just a scream but her name! But...it wasn’t any voice she recognized, so who was it? After all if she didn’t recognize the voice then for all she knew... oh what did it matter, someone needed her help! Badly! As quick as she could run she dashed off in the direction of the scream, hoping to find whoever it was before it was too late.
